SkittlesThere is a very active skittle following at the Community Centre, for both in-house and district leagues. In House Tuesday Nights Through out the year there is a friendly in-house skittles league split into summer and winter competitions. The Winter league is based on 4 player teams whilst the Summer league has 6 player teams. |

Corsham & District Ladies Darts LeagueThe Chairperson Mrs.Bet Godsel now assisted by her daughter Lesley keeps the league running smoothly. The league starts in September and runs through the winter until May, when after all the various competitions have been played, a presentation dance is held normally in June at the Centre, giving all the ladies a chance to show their respective partners, how well, or not so well, they have done in the year. Fund raising events are arranged during the season and after the Presentation Dance all the funds raised are donated to The Dorothy House Foundation. This is a charity which the Ladies Darts League have supported for many years since the League began. Anyone interested in entering a team or perhaps just playing, can contact the Centre and the message will be passed on. Phone: 01249 712454. Corsham & District Ladies Darts League Corsham Ladies Darts League has been run from the Centre for over 30yrs. Each match consists of 6 singles and 3 doubles games with a rough start. Corsham & District Tuesday Night Darts LeagueThis league is relatively new to the Centre, but we now have two teams participating in this friendly league. Matches consist of 4 singles, 2 pairs and 1 game of 1001. The singles and pairs required a double start. The rules for both these leagues require the home teams to provide food after the match. At least you won’t go home hungry no matter how long it takes to get that elusive double one finish. |
Corsham & District Winter Skittles LeagueThe Centre is the home of the Winter skittles league, the AGM and other meetings being held here. The Centre currently has four teams participating in the league with mixed success. The League starts in September and matches are held on Wednesdays. Teams consist of 8 or more players and matches are played over 6 legs. Once the league is over there are numerous cup knockout competitions to finish of the season. The League is looking for more teams; if you are looking for an excuse to get out of the house on a Wednesday night and have 8 or more like minded friends, contact Duncan on 01225 413250 for further details. Chippenham & District Summer Skittles LeagueThe League starts in June and matches are held on Thursdays. Teams consist of 9 or more players and matches are played over 6 legs. Once the league is over there are several competitions to finish of the season. It is traditional for the home team to provide food for after the match but not mandated in the rules. Again this league is seeking for more teams; if you are looking for an excuse to get out of the house on a Thursday night and have 9 or more like friends, contact Nigel Perry on 01249 413250 for further details. |
