Corsham Centre has been serving the Corsham Community since 1943, when it was first built as a canteen/cinema serving the migrant community of munitions workers that were living around the area during the war, Since then many changes have been made to the interior and to the general use of the building.
It was used for many years as a school overflow, Also dances were held here on a regular basis during the 60s, We now specialize in all types of leisure activities as diverse as Scottish Dancing, Line Dancing, Bridge, Skittles, Ladies Darts, Quiz’s, Archery, Table Tennis, etc.
The Citizens Advice hold a workshop here every Wednesday,
The National Blood transfusion Service also hold a collection service here on a regular basis.
We also have many other Charitable organizations using the premises from St Bartholomew’s Church Pantomime group to Corsham Disabled Club who meet here regularly on Monday afternoons. So as you can see we try to cater for all groups and ages.
We have two halls; The Jubilee hall being the smallest with a capacity of 120 persons, The Main hall has a capacity of 170 and has a full size stage and lighting, both halls have access to the Bar.
